Composer; recording engineer, producer, mixer; drummer, percussionist. Three time Oregon State Champion in the Rudimental Snare Drum category. Studied at Oberlin College Conservatory of Music in the Percussion, and Technology in Music and Related Arts programs. Founding and current member of Tortoise and The Sea & Cake; former contributing member of Bastro, My Dad Is Dead, Red Krayola, and Gastr Del Sol. As a member of Tortoise, numerous collaborations with artists such as Tom Zé, Daniel Lanois, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Cluster, The Ex, Fred Anderson, Colin Newman, and Mouse On Mars. Film composition credits include Reach The Rock (John Hughes, producer), Lovely Molly (Eduardo Sanchez, director). Owner/operator of Soma Electronic Music Studios in Chicago, IL (1995-2017); Nevada City, CA (2017-2019); Gladstone, OR (2019-present).
